Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that the Ukrainian industry is now producing 40 Bohdana artillery systems per month.
The announcement was made by Zelensky during the International Defense Industries Forum (DFNC3). “We have managed to establish the production of our national artillery in record time and with high quality,” said the Ukrainian president.
“We are already producing 40 Bohdana systems per month. This is a significant result. We are grateful to the manufacturers,” Zelensky added.
According to the website Militarnyi, the serial production of the Ukrainian Bohdana, a self-propelled artillery system, began in early 2023.
Since then, at least six versions of the system have been produced, with different chassis and cabin configurations. In May 2024, production rates of 10 units per month were reported.
By October, President Zelensky stated that Ukraine was producing up to 20 Bohdanas per month. This means production has doubled in just one year.
For security reasons, the production process has been dispersed across several locations, including abroad. Additionally, no part is manufactured in just one location, which prevents the disruption of the process in case a production unit is hit.
